TEACHING
Trudy has been in love with the human voice since childhood! Her 55 years of vocal study (notably, with Sebastian Engelberg, Myron McPherson, Dr. Elizabeth Vrenios), coupled with a 25 year career in opera, continued rigorous practicing and performing to this day, and a passion for vocal technique, have made her work as a teacher highly effective. Her students learn how to ‘set up’ their instrument; they also gain clear instruction about what ‘ breath support’ means in a manner that is reproducible. She works with both classical singers and jazz artists and has taught singing for 25 years, maintaining a studio on Manhattan's Upper West Side and on Long Island's East End in Springs.
